About the CIMA Certificate for International Students
Entry requirements
No prior qualifications are required to commence the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, CIMA’s entry level qualification. Students already holding professional qualifications will be eligible for exemptions from certain papers.

CIMA is broken down into two separate qualifications, Certificate in Business Accounting and CIMA Professional qualification.

Exemptions
Exemptions are available if you have gained a relevant exempting qualification. Some examples of exemptions are:
- AAT qualified – exempt from 5 papers in CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
- Accounts & Finance degree – exempt from some or all of the 5 papers from CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
