MA (Masters) Financial Management available Part Time & Full Time
The Fast Track MA (Masters) Financial Management is designed to allow fully qualified accountants (CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI) to achieve an additional qualification within between 6 and 12 months of study. Many students choose to combine their ACCA or CIMA qualification with a MA in order to achieve both qualifications within the shortest possible timeframe. Completion of this course allows students to combine their existing professional expertise with a high level of academic research in order to complete a piece of research relevant to the field of financial management.
Students wishing to study the part-time course will have 6 full days of weekend lectures, alongside seminars and one-to-one contact with their lecturers. Students choosing the full-time course will have 6 full days of weekday lectures, alongside seminars and a greater level of one-to-one contact with teaching staff.
MA Financial Management Entry requirements
Students are expected to be fully qualified accountants (CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI). Students should also have the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 or above on commencement of the course.
MA Financial Management Course Aims & Objectives
This Masters degree aims to quip students with an understanding of the different research methods needed to plan and execute a research project. Students will develop strong quantitative and qualitative research skills and independent and reflective learning skills.
MA Financial Management Course Structure
The course has a simple two part structure. The first phase of the course (3-6 months depending on the start date) is a taught phase dealing with research methods and skills. Once students have passed this phase they then move on to the second phase, which is the research phase. Again this phase lasts from between 3 and 6 months, and requires students to complete a dissertation of 20,000 words.
