About the Apprenticeship

On completion of the qualification your learner will receive an NVQ Certificate/Diploma and the Apprenticeship Certificate. They will also receive a Technical Certificate in Business & Administration and Key/Functional Skills Certificates (where applicable). Many learners progress to a higher level NVQ (such as Team Leadership, Management or Accountancy AAT qualifications).

  • One-to-one assessor support
  • Online learning modules
  • E-Portfolio of work-based evidence

A formal progress review will be carried out by a Kaplan Assessor within the workplace every 10-12 weeks. This also includes tailoring the training to your business and learner’s requirements.

Employer Responsibilities

As Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes, most of the training is ‘on the job’ at your premises.

To ensure that your learner develops effective skills throughout their Apprenticeship as an employer you must:

  • Provide an induction and on-the-job mentoring and training
  • Ensure you meet relevant health and safety procedures set by Kaplan
  • Pay your Apprentice’s wage according to the national minimum wage
  • Hold regular meetings with your learners throughout their assessments
  • Employ your learner for at least 30 hours per week
