MSc International Accounting and Finance
This Masters degree is designed for recent accounting graduates who want to gain expertise in Financial Reporting Standards in order to gain employment at the cutting edge of the accounting and banking professions. Completion of this postgraduate degree will enable graduates to stand out from their peers in the highly competitive accountancy and financial job markets.
Entry Requirements
Students should have at least a second class honours degree in accounting or hold a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAEW. Students must also hold the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 or above.
Course Aims and Objectives
The aim of this postgraduate course is to equip students with a well developed understanding of international accounting and the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry into financial positions both internationally and within the UK. Graduates will be highly valued by employers for their ability to understand and contribute towards the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards in the business environment.
Course Structure
The course has a taught phase and a research phase. The taught phase is divided into two semesters and lasts for 12 months, whilst the research phase lasts for between 3 and 6 months. The course is assessed through a mixture of exams and coursework, with students able to choose their own dissertation subject relating to international accounting and finance.
