Why pursue the IMC Qualification from Kaplan Financial?
The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) announced on 21st May 2007 that the society is the first institution to successfully meet the appropriate exam standards for managing investments. It is listed as an Appropriate examination for investment management and Recommended examination for a range of other activities by the FSSC.
The IMC also offers a good introduction to the financial services industry for those working in support areas such as information technology and marketing and, it provides a solid foundation for Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Program.
Upon completion of the IMC, delegates are able to apply for membership of the CFA Society of the UK. Membership and participation in events can help to demonstrate to employers a commitment to high standards of professional practice in investment analysis, portfolio management and related disciplines. Upon becoming an IMC member of the Society, delegates may use the designatory letters IMC, after their name.
Pre-requisites of the Investment Management Certificate
The exam is set for individuals working in an administrative or operational role, however no prior knowledge is required. A good grasp of Maths and English is expected. If new to the industry Kaplan recommends you undertake the 2 day IMC Foundation course which offers an understanding of financial markets and an introduction to the use of the compulsory examination calculator.
