Jeremy Smith FCA MCSI
Jeremy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross in 1994, having read Economics and Accounting at Newcastle University. He started his City training career in 1998 with the Financial Markets Division of FTC London, where he taught UK Benchmark exam courses and a range of tailored and public in-house courses.
In 2000, Jeremy left FTC to become a founding member and director of 7city Learning, where he worked for seven years as Head of the Tutor Faculty and Head of Examination Training. During this time Jeremy taught towards the Certificates and IAQ qualifications for clients including Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Invesco, and acted as the main tutor contact for several of these, delivering internal road-shows, exam inductions and representing 7city at client training events. He also delivered a range of in-house non-exam courses as part of induction programmes and internal T&C programmes for clients including Merrill Lynch, Invesco and GAM.
In 2010, Jeremy joined Kaplan Financial as Head of UK Benchmark Examinations where he currently designs, oversees and delivers Kaplan's range of UK Benchmark solutions.
Steve Robinson MCSI
Steve is a respected practitioner with many years experience of designing and delivering financial services training. Steve previously worked for Barclays Stockbrokers where he managed and delivered their financial services exam programme that included the CISI Certs, IMC and IAQ qualifications. He is the author of two CISI IAQ workbooks and also written a regulatory workbook for the Dubai Financial Services Authority. At Kaplan Financial Steve is the Head of CISI Certificates Training.
Nigel Moran
Nigel Moran has been actively involved with the financial markets for more half his life. Initially as a FOREX trader, then a Fund Manager for a Macro hedge fund. After successfully trading the 1987, 1989, crashes he went on to specialise further into derivatives as a Bond Option trader. In 1999, he moved to Australia and set up his own 'boutique' hedge fund, and started delivering training across a broad spectrum of financial markets topics in all major Australian cities. Since returning to London in 2005 Nigel has blended managing of the financial markets faculty of Kaplan Financial with delivery of exam and non exam (bespoke) courses to some of the top names in London, including; Hermes, Brit Insurance, Brewin Dolphin, RBS and HSBC.
Jhan Burger BCom (OxBr) PDM IMM
Jhan has eight years experience in the training and education industry both in his native South Africa and the UK. Jhan spent three years developing a training unit which focused on the use of business simulations in finance and education training. He is an energetic and enthusiastic tutor of the IMC, CISI Certificates and CFA Level I qualifications.
