The exams are based on published syllabi, which are reviewed annually to reflect changes in the industry and the regulatory environment.  The current syllabi is on the CFA UK website.

Exams are delivered by computer-based testing (CBT). A worldwide network of test centres is used to ensure flexible scheduling, instant results and ease of completing the exam on screen. CFA UK has 52 test centres across the UK and selected centres worldwide which can be found here

RDR compliance with the CFA® and IMC

The CFA® plus (Level 4) IMC Unit 1 has been approved as RDR compliant for those advising and dealing in securities and derivatives.

The combination of these two qualifications has been listed (on the new Appropriate Exams list) as fully meeting the requirements of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR). Note that this works in combination; IMC Unit 1 or the CFA® alone are not RDR compliant.

IMC can also provide a route to RDR compliant status when combined with a technical paper (Securities or Derivatives) from the CISI Investment Advice Diploma (IAD).
