Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) Course

GARPThe Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) examination is administered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals™ (GARP®) and the FRM charter is the leading designation in risk management worldwide.  The body of risk knowledge contained in the syllabus is increasingly being globally recognized as setting the standard in global risk management practices.

It is the logical course of study for professionals working or planning to work in market, credit or operational risk. Certified FRMs have achieved positions such as Chief Risk Officer, Senior Risk Analyst, Head of Operational Risk, and Director of Investment Risk Management, to name a few.

Course structure Two parts
Course completion time We estimate you will need about 300 - 500 hours of study time to complete the FRM® program.

This will normally happen over a period of at least one year depending how much time you have available to study.
Examination method Paper-based, multiple-choice examinations
Entry requirements There are no educational or professional prerequisites to sit for either part of the FRM exam, but candidates are required to have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience before being awarded the charter.  Further details can be found on the GARP website.

Pass Protection Scheme

No FRM® Prep Provider can guarantee that you will pass having attended a course. We can, however, offer a commitment to support you through the process.

Kaplan Financial offers a Pass Protection Scheme for candidates studying with us. If you attend both education and revision phases with us and are not successful in the actual exam we offer a free revision course with us for the next sitting at no extra cost.

In order to qualify for the Pass Protection Scheme you must have:

  • Attended both tuition and revision courses at Kaplan Financial
  • An attendance record of at least 90%, which will be based on your signature on our class registers
  • A copy of your FRM exam result to send us.

In the event you are not successful in the actual exam you will be entitled to:

  • A free three day weekday revision course for the next sitting
  • Free Kaplan Financial class materials including updated MindMaps and revision Q&A banks
  • A discussion of your resit strategy with one of our charter holding tutors.
