Who is the ILM qualification suitable for?

The ILM level 2 and 3 qualifications are open to practising or aspiring front line managers and aims to provide them with the knowledge and understanding to improve their effectiveness as a front line manager in the workplace. The programme is suitable for candidates with some management experience but who want to progress in their management role. It is also suitable for more experienced managers who have no formal qualifications and who would like to progress onto more formal higher level qualifications.

Students have a choice of either an Introductory Award programme that covers the basic knowledge and skills in a subject, or a more comprehensive Certificate programme.

ILM Level 2 Team Leading

This programme is aimed at practising or aspiring supervisors or team leaders. It is also appropriate for those individuals who have some responsibility for people or other resources but are not currently in a team leader role.

ILM Level 3 First Line Management

This programme is ideal for those individuals who are already in a first line management position or who are working towards that goal.

The awards and certificates at each level are nested to encourage progression. This means credits gained in the award qualification can be carried forward in to the larger certificate qualification, enabling individuals to progress their learning without repetition.
