About CFAB

The Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) is awarded by the ICAEW. It enables people from a wide range of business occupations to have a shared level of understanding of finance, accounting and business.

The qualification is made up of six modules taken from the Knowledge Level of the ICAEW’s ACA qualification:

Who can take the qualification?

Anyone can study CFAB. No academic qualifications are required, although students may apply for Credits for Prior Learning at www.icaew.com/cfab - credits can help students to fast-track through the course by exempting them from certain papers.

CFAB is ideal for people working in a related role or intending to take an accounting qualification. Equally for those not working in an accounting or finance role CFAB provides a broad understanding of business.

CFAB – the key benefits

The modular structure of the CFAB qualification gives students the flexibility to take the modules in any order, which means subjects most relevant to the individual’s role and employer can be taken first.

There are many more reasons to study for the CFAB qualification.

  • Improve business, finance and accounting skills
  • Train and retain employees
  • Free membership to an ICAEW Faculty, providing expert industry advice
  • Progress your career by completing the qualification in as little as six to 12 months
  • Once students have completed the CFAB qualification they can then progress onto the full ACA qualification - find out more about studying ACA (ICAEW) with Kaplan
