Kaplan is committed to building futures, no matter what background a student is from. We understand that in some cases our students may need some extra support, for example those studying with a disability, or struggling to fit their studies in around work and family commitments. We endeavour to provide this extra support.
At Kaplan we are passionate about helping all students through their training, and this doesn’t just stop the moment our students leave the classroom. Our professional tutors and dedicated support staff are here to help at all times, either by phone or email to help you overcome any issues you may have.
Flexibility & Accessibility
If you do have a disability we understand that you may need flexibility in your learning style and approach.
Kaplan will support you by:
- Altering working and training hours to suit your needs
- Allowing absences during training hours for rehabilitation and assessment or treatment
- Giving additional training, study notes and support where appropriate
- Making special arrangements for parking and access to buildings
Ear loop facility
All Kaplan’s classrooms are installed with technology to help those students who have difficulty hearing. Provisions include either fixed induction loops or portable 'Communicator' induction loops.
Large versions of study materials & class notes
If you have sight problems, Kaplan Publishing, our bespoke publishers for all our study materials, will produce large copies of the textbooks so you can read all of the materials we provide. Our tutors will also provide you with access to large versions of all study notes and class material and even ensure that a seat at the front of class is always available so that you can comfortably see the lesson.
Kaplan will ensure that all appropriate furniture is provided to those individuals who have specific health requirements, such as providing appropriate seating for wheelchair users and those with back problems or any other physical disabilities. If you would like some more information about this level of support, then please contact your local Kaplan centre to discuss in more detail.
