Terms & Conditions apply

What should I do if I have a problem booking my CBE?

In the unlikely event you have a problem when booking your CBE, please call 01908 540068.

How do I apply for additional exam support?

Simply select ‘request additional exam support’ when making your booking and your Kaplan centre will contact you to discuss your requirements.

What types of questions appear on the CBE?

In February 2014, new question types were introduced - multi-task questions (MTQs) - into the ACCA F1-F3 exams.

MTQs contain a series of tasks for students to complete, tasks which relate to one or more scenarios. These tasks can be made up of different question types – multiple choice, multiple response, multiple response matching, number entry, hotspots and gapfill questions.

Find out more from the ACCA about the exam format and question types and you can also watch this helpful video which explains what this means for the FMA paper.

How should I prepare for a CBE?

The whole of the syllabus is examinable therefore you should have practiced and be confident in all syllabus areas.

Our FIA Diploma Classroom and Live Online Pass&Go Courses include Tuition, study materials and exam practice questions, so they are the ideal preparation for the CBE.

Answering questions on a computer screen is very different to answering a paper exam therefore practicing answering computer based questions is vital. Kaplan students will be given access to practice questions and a mock exam through their MyKaplan account.

What happens during a CBE?

There are 50 questions to complete in 2 hours and you will be prompted to read the instructions before you can begin the exam.

The on-screen timer will show you how long you have left. You do not need to answer the questions in order so you can return to a question later. Don’t leave any multiple choice questions left answered. If you’re not sure, just make your best guess. It you have time left at the end then review each of your answers.

The CBE will automatically end after your 2 hours are up. If you finish early and are sure that you have answered all questions as best as you possibly can then click ‘Exit’ to submit your exam. The required pass rate is 50% and your result will appear on screen. You are advised to print 2 copies of the results certificate, before you exit the examination system. If you were unsuccessful, you will need to arrange a resit.

ACCA have also produced a video which helps to explain the CBE process.

When can I take my CBE?

CBEs are available all year round, subject to availability, at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends. If you cannot see any available dates in your preferred month, please contact your local centre.

You should arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the exam is due to start so you can register.

Where can I take my CBE? What is my ACCA User ID number?

It is the the 7 digit number given to you by ACCA when you registered as a student, which you also use to log into MyACCA.

Can I enrol on an FIA course?

Yes but you will need to enrol on an FIA course separately to booking your CBE.
