From September 2018, ACCA exam names are changing. Between now and then, you may see some old and new subject names appearing below. If you're unsure which to select, you can refer back to our syllabus page.
In the unlikely event you have a problem when booking your CBE, please call 0161 259 7400.
Simply select ‘request additional exam support’ when making your booking and your Kaplan centre will contact you to discuss your requirements.
Multi-task questions (MTQs) contain a series of tasks for students to complete, tasks which relate to one or more scenarios. These tasks can be made up of different question types – multiple choice, multiple response, multiple response matching, number entry, hotspots and gapfill questions.
Find out more from the ACCA about the exam format and question types and you can also watch this helpful video which explains what this means for the F2/MA paper.
The F4/LW CBE is now available and is made up of two sections. Section A will be worth 70 marks. It will contain a mixture of 20 one-mark and 25 two-mark questions. Candidates will be required to select the correct one from a list of potential answers. As objective test (OT) questions there can only be one correct answer to each question. Section B will contain five six-mark multi-task questions (MTQs).
The whole of the syllabus is examinable therefore you should have practiced and be confident in all syllabus areas.
Our Classroom Knowledge and Live Online Knowledge Courses include Tuition, study materials and exam practice questions so they are the ideal preparation for the CBE.
Our complete F4/LW Courses include Tuition, Revision & Question Based Days and come under our Complete Course offer.
Answering questions on a computer screen is very different to answering a paper exam therefore practicing answering computer based questions is vital. Kaplan students will be given access to practice questions and a mock exam through their MyKaplan account.
There is also a CBE specimen on the ACCA website which you can attempt to help familiarise yourself with the CBE process.
There are 50 questions to complete in 2 hours and you will be prompted to read the instructions before you can begin the exam.
The on-screen timer will show you how long you have left. You do not need to answer the questions in order so you can return to a question later. Don’t leave any multiple choice questions left answered. If you’re not sure just make your best guess. It you have time left at the end then review each of your answers.
The CBE will automatically end after your 2 hours are up. If you finish early and are sure that you have answered all questions as best as you possibly can then click ‘Exit’ to submit your exam. The required pass rate is 50% and your result will appear on screen. You are advised to print 2 copies of the results certificate, before you exit the examination system. If you were unsuccessful, we will help you to arrange a resit.
ACCA have also produced a video which helps to explain the CBE process.
CBEs are available all year round, subject to availability, at a time to suit you. If you cannot see any available dates in your preferred month, please contact your local centre.
You should arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the exam is due to start so you can register.
ACCA allow a student to take a maximum of 8 exams (computer and/or paper based) a year. In addition to this rule, a maximum of 4 exams can be booked per exam session:
