About AAT
There are two ways to complete the AAT qualification:
- NVQ route.
- Diploma pathway.
Both result in the same qualification, however it is worth noting that if you are applying for government funding you must follow the NVQ route.
Pre-requisites
There are no entry requirements for AAT. However, a good grasp of Mathematics and written English is required.
Modules and structure
Whichever route you choose there are three levels to the qualification, those being Foundation, Intermediate and Technician under the NVQ route and Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma under the diploma pathway.
Exemptions
It is possible to gain exemptions from the first levels of AAT. It is also possible to gain other exemptions if you have previous NVQ’s, including exemptions for Unit 21 Health and Safety and Unit 22 Working with Computers.
Once you have completed the AAT qualification, you then gain exemptions from future qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and ATT.
