MSc International Banking and Finance
This postgraduate degree has been designed to help students apply theoretical concepts to practical financial and banking problems. Students who have strong quantitative skills, or knowledge of economics and finance related issues will be able to develop their skills by completing this course, helping to distinguish themselves from their peers in pursuit of a lucrative career in banking or finance. Many students study this degree after completing professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA.
Entry Requirements
Students should have a second class honours degree in accounting, finance, economics or another quantitative subject. Students should also hold IELTS 6.5 or above. Students who have completed the Edexcel Level 7 BTEC Advanced Professional Diploma in Management Studies will also be considered at the discretion of the institution.
Course Aims and Requirements
This postgraduate degree aims to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to explore banking and finance at an advanced level, and to allow students to specialise in a subject area of their choice in the second semester.
Course Structure
The MSc International Banking and Finance consists of two semesters and a research phase. During the taught phase of the course students follow a pathway of core and optional modules relating to a variety of economics, finance and banking issues. Following the taught phase students must then complete a 5,000 word research proposal in preparation for the research phase of the course; a 20,000 word piece of original research.
