How can I study with Kaplan?

Don’t worry! Kaplan has a range of study options to help you in your AAT studies - we have the following learning methods:

I haven’t been in education for some time – how would Kaplan support me during my studies?

We welcome students of all ages onto our AAT courses. We also ensure that the pace of our courses is set to allow all students to keep up, and we offer a variety of additional support tools for students who may need to go over material more than once or need extra support. These include our online learning resource – Kaplan En-gage, free additional study support classes in mathematics, study techniques and how to prepare for exams, and finally 1-2-1 support from your tutor and assessor outside the classroom. To find out more about this view our Studying AAT for the first time guide.

When do Kaplan's AAT courses start?

Our courses start throughout the year. Subject to the AAT’s guidance about certain units that must be sat before others, you should never be more than 6-8 weeks away from being able to start an AAT course with Kaplan

How quickly can I complete my course?

You really can study at your own pace. Many students will complete Level 2 in 6 months and take 6-12 months for Level 3 and 12 months for Level 4, but the flexibility of our courses mean we can design a programme around you.

Where can I get my local centre’s timetable?

Please visit our AAT Timetables page.

Do I have to register with the AAT before I enrol with Kaplan Financial?

No you dont – you can join at any time. But we do recommend however that you register at least 2 weeks before you wish to sit your first Computer Based Test or e-project.

What are the current AAT registration fees?

To find the current AAT registration fees, please visit the AAT website.

How will I be assessed?

AAT students are assessed through a mixture of Computer Based Tests (CBTs) and Computer Based Projects (CBPs). You can find out more about CBTs here, or watch a short presentation from the AAT about the CBP process.

Do I get any exemptions if I have completed A-levels or a degree?

Yes, you will be exempt from at least Level 2 although some prior qualifications carry more exemptions that others, so please visit the AAT website for a definitive answer applicable to you

Can I obtain government funding for my AAT course at Kaplan?

Potentially yes. Kaplan is able to offer government funded AAT courses via an Apprenticeship Programme. There are several criteria attached to this so please visit our funded courses page for more details

Can I still get funding if I have a degree?

Kaplan is unable to offer funding on AAT training programmes for graduates.  However you can still enrol with us as a fee payer.

If I have a full time job, can I still study?

Many of our centres run evening classes and the number of centres offering weekend courses is increasing every sitting.

Do the prices on your enrolment form include everything?

Yes, they include everything provided by Kaplan Financial. Costs payable directly to the AAT such as registration, annual membership and exam fees are not included.

What do I do if I cannot make a class?

You should contact your local centre to let them know, and it may be possible to attend the class either at an alternative centre or, at an alternative time. It may be possible to attend 2 evenings rather than one day, or 1 day instead of 2 evenings.
